This is the card that I created for the challenges at PPC and also a new one I found over at PPA. What cool spots to check out! I hate to use the saying killing two birds with one stone, especially when creating a bird card, but I figured why not? I know there is a more humane saying for multi-tasking but the "bird" thing always pops into my head:/

Anyway, hope you enjoy my newest creation:)

And on to some of the instructions (For my friends who like tutorials)- those who don't just skip=)))

I started by choosing my colors(thanx to the NEW challenge over at ppc). That is half the battle.LOL. and my theme thanx to PPA!

I chose the hummingbird spring song stamp set because where I live our hummingbirds seem to be in these colors! I stamped the bird in staz-on black: and then masked and stamped again. and then once more on bottom!(haha!not shown) Masking is easily done by using a post-it-note. They are thin and have the re positional tape on the back so it can be easily moved. I stamp the image on the post it note and then trim to cover over my 1st stamped image(shown on left)
Then on to water coloring! I'm not sure if you can see in the pix,but I added shimmer paint to a drop of my ink and painted(you can click on image to get a closer view). Next, I used my textured plates to create the photo corner, and ran over my suede ink to add more dimension. I corner punched some DSP (from sweet pea DSP pack). I added a light blue square eyelet-just cause I thought it looked cool! Then I have this thing for balance?? and thought I needed some silver to match my brad over on the opposite side,so I took some aluminum foil(found in every home I think!). I taped it to some white card stock(so it was easier to tape and keep its form) and ran it through my big shot texture plate 4. I trimmed it to be the same size as my watercolor paper. I scalloped edged 2 strips of paper(1-old olive the other suede) and attached the suede on top of, and the olive under, the watercolor paper. I ran kraft taffeta ribbon through the two bottom scallops and taped underneath a strip of soft suede on left, and my foiled strip on the right. I attached all on a kraft card. All done and on to thinking warm thoughts;)
