Petal Pizzazz

Color Challenge at SPCC

Layout Challenge at PPA

I guess it is really and truly spring!!!All my posts seem to be flowers!  This is a card i created for the challenges above. It was difficult for me to use these colors as I don't usually tend to go toward brights=).

Stamp Sets: Petal Pizzazz and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Accessories:  Scallop Square Punch,1-1/4 and1-3/8circle punches, modern label and word window punches, scallop trim border and scallop edge punches, brocade blue eyelet, sahara sand paper(dsp from pattern pack, too),and a yellow square brad (from the square fire collection)

I stamped my flower image 3 times on whisper white cs.(2x in yoyo yellow and once in brocade blue) I then circle puched them out, layered them to opposite next size circle punch and then to same color punched scallop square.  I pierced a hole through each flowers center then added brads(as pictured). Through the bottom flower i added some glorios green leaves(hand cut out) and a modern label punch with the saying "just for you"  from the teeny tiny wishes set.  This fits perfectly into the word window punch as do all the sayings from that set! I used sahara sand ink and background stamped a different flower image from petal pizzazz, adhered a strip of scalloped edged sahara sand cs and a scalloped trim edge of the sahara dsp,  I pop-dotted my square layered flowers down the right side of my card. Hope you like!

Flowers in a Terra Cotta Pot

2 Challenges,1 Pot =D

Layout Challenge at 411

Color Challenge at PPC

I always love the vases and flower pots made from punches!  I used this one using my large tag punch on textured pumpkin pie cs,trimmed a little off the bottom to make it a little flatter base.  I then added a little snail crawling up the side of the pot.  Isn't he too darn cute?,and such a little element to make my flower pot big!
He comes from the picnic parade hostess set in SU Occasions Mini(ending this month).  Maybe I should have pop-dotted him? I don't know, always more thoughts even after my finish!LOL! well, I hope you enjoy this card=D

Ch,Ch,Ch,Changes!!!

My Dear Friends, Customers, and fellow Stampin' Up Enthusiasts,

As many of you may have heard, there is a color renovation happening with the new catalog in July! If you didn't hear, I would love to share these changes with you. Either way, that is what I hope to accomplish with this post=) I also hope that this answers some of the questions you may have! So on with my rambling;)

Stampin' Up is changing our 5 color families and making them 4 color collections(our new color cor). This means we will be saying good-bye to some friends, welcoming back some friends, and saying hello to some new friends!! Please click on the highlighted areas to see the color charts!
*note* I think you will be navigated away from this page,so remember to hit the back arrow key to return to my blog=))

Wow!!! This is alot to take in,just when I thought I was getting it together;) LOL! Anyway, here are some things you should know:
  • Every year, SU will introduce 5 in-colors. Unlike previosly, these colors will be lasting for 2 years instead of 1!! So, with the new catalog in July'10, we will be getting 5 in-colors,then another 5 in-colors in July'11. Then, in July'12,we will retire the 1st batch(July'10) of in-colors and introduce 5 new in-colors to replace!!
  • Craft ink pads will only be available in the jumbo size as Basic Black,Whisper White, and Very Vanilla. From what I understand, the other colors will be available in SU spots.
  • A handful of core colors will change every 3-5 years> This is so nice to know so it will not be too overwhelming.
  • SU will be offering color kits starting July 1st to help the transition to these new colors
Many are asking why? SU did research for years to come up with this new color core. They would like SU colors to be fresh and appealing. This keeps everyone interested in our products, I have to admit that i will not be sad over the loss of some colors!
I hope this clears up some questions you may have had? If not feel free to contact me=)
In closing, I am really excited about these new changes, feel sad about some of my favorites that are going(blush blossom:'( I will miss you)!!! So, if you have any favorites that you can not do without, you should get them before June1. After that, they will be "while supplies last". I am stocking up on my blush:))) If there is no fav then save up for some new ones!!! I am definetly doing that!! If I receive any more clarifications or up-dates I will let you know as soon as I do. I hope you will become as excited as I am about these changes and I look forward to sharing them with you in July!!!!

Until next though~Kris

Beers to You!

I absolutely love this set! And no I am not a lush! LOL! This is the time of year when I find myself needing "masculine" cards. So I used my challenges to help me along;)

Stamp Sets: Cheers to you,Extreme Elements
Colors:

Accessories: Crystal Effects, Shimmer Paint, Top Note Die,Sizzix machine, circle punches, Sweet Pea DSP,Pop dots, snail adhesive,

Layout Challenge:

I do not have the circle cutter yet-it is on the extensive wish list;) So in order to make a big circle I used my sizzix and top note die! I first cut my mellow moss top note, then rotate it 180*, then rotate again and again as shown in pics below:

This is the final shape that I come up with!!! My crazy shaped circle;)
I applied crystal effects to my beer mug and white shimmer paint to my froth. I adhere all layers on my card. I used my mellow moss marker on my "cheers for you" stamp and just omit the "c". Then I use my thin end of my marker and round my "h" to make a "b"
