spidey-faux alligator technique

This one is an old card I had made awhile back, but the most awesome queen of punches( Ellen )had me think to pull him out of the vault ;). But now I see so much more work that can be done to him!!-he can be a complete,full-bodied SUPER!!!

I used the wide oval punch in real red and did the faux alligator technique for the stripes on spideys face.(Click on image to get a closer view)

FAUX ALLIGATOR SKIN TECHNIQUE:
Do this by using versamark or other clear embossing ink-cover the area you wish to have this leathery look to be. Then sprinkle on the clear embossing powder to your image. Then use your bone folder to create a pattern on the image. You can use this technique for sooo many projects-animals ,purses,shoes,etc... Lastly, emboss your image with your heat gun- cool huh? And see no animals were actually harmed in this process! I used Stampin Ups' discontinued magic mesh(sorry!) as my web behind his face and the Party Hearty stamp set for the birthday wish! and the spiral punch on the edge of that birthday image. I used the small oval punch, cut on an angle and just trimmed a little to create layers for the eyes. I used the craft white ink for the circles in the background-many stamp sets have our cool circles-Enjoy Every Moment or Think Happy Thoughts or...or...
Til next thought...~kris
