A rip and a tear...

I am having so much fun with our new stocking punch!!
My Thought: I wanted to fill my stocking with some toys!
OK.  I went a little vintage on this card.  I didn't intend for it to be that way but...
I'm not so sure I am good at the vintage style? but I love the Well Worn DSP we have, so I guess that's where I steered vintage.  I love to make the new 'lollies' as the folks at Stampin' Up call them. You can find many video tutorials such as :(Stamping Madly Lolly Tutorial) on you tube on how to do these if you can't understand my ramblings ;)
To make a lolly: I use a 12" strip of dsp.  Using our awesome new simply scoring tool, I make score lines every 1/8". I like to give my lolly the look that I used 2 papers(which I don't!)To accomplish this I turn my paper and score a 1/4" mark on the 12" side. I then fold it over.  I fold all score lines in hill and valley folds(a little tedious but Love the effect of the smaller lines!!) If this is too tedious you can do your score lines in bigger increments. I glue my lolly together and allow to dry.
On to the rest of the card ;)
My card base is soft suede.  I embossed a piece of not quite navy with our new 'snow burst' embossing folder.  I sponged this in 1st, soft suede ink, and then in our champagne shimmer paint(this is the BEST stuff!!)I tore a little strip at the bottom with a piece of dsp peeking out from under.
I 'ruffled' another piece of dsp(the opposite side of my lolly paper) and attached it across the not quite navy.  I made 3 jewelry tags using my tiny tags stamp set and our jewelry tag punch.  I attached to my ruffled strip with a vintage safety pin from our vintage trinkets.
Now my lolly is ready for some adornments!!
I punched a stocking from our stocking builder punch in textured soft suede card stock. I thought since i was going vintage here that my stocking should be torn.  So I tore the heel a bit and 'darned'(heehhee-vintage terminology;)) it with some bakers twine that I sponged with some suede ink.
To fill my stocking, I used the baby from all in the family stamp set, a couple of hand made blocks and a button from my vintage trinkets too!
To hang our stocking I used our 'Chantilly' Crochet trim. I sponged it a bit with my soft suede ink to give it the look of some worn lace. Behind the stocking is a soft suede scallop and a 'snow bursted' circle -both are distressed and well worn!

 I LOVE,how it turned out...
What do you think?

Until Next Thought,
Kris
