Wow! Remember Me? I have been absent from my posting world for two weeks! I am hoping now that my son(s) baseball seasons are over, that I will be back on track! That is unless the beach calls me too often ;)) Fittingly, I have titled my card for my absence and hopeful that I will not have too much of a gap in posting ever again >:| Although with summer at the end of the week and the beach at the end of the road-who knows?? =D I saw the sketch challenge over at Just Add Ink and thought to go with it! I was wanting to try a flower that I saw on our SU! showcase(sorry I tried to go back and find the specific creator but there are absolutely toooo many awesome ideas on there to find it:( specifically ).So, I'm hoping that my version is ok:) I think that the original creator used cs and rounded the flower to give it a more 3-d appearance,but I just loved this dotted DSP- so fun!
Anyway 8) , The base of my card is only orange-Yikes I only have 2pieces left :s. I punched 5 circles on my sheet of DSP and then punched the ovals over them-giving me the open petal look. Of course,you need to save every little circle scrap-there is always a use for them! I punched a cog with my new cog punch:))))))in mambo-again save your center circle! I cut a piece of the same DSP,using the opposite side,and a piece of choc chip and mambo. I used my white gel pen and made a line of dots on the (2)mambo, around the rim of card and on the cog circle. I attached the DSP and choc chip, then created my flower by using the opposite side of my 3/4 DSP circle(scrap:)and cut my cog in half and to make the flower center. I tucked the petals under the cog ends-centering them.
I added the piece of melon mambo on top of choc chip. Then on to my thought...I stamped "remember" in choc chip on a piece of white cs. I colored in the me part only with my choc marker and stamped on one of the circle scraps the "me'. I attached layers as shown
Until Next Thought~
Kris =D

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and your sweet comment ;-)
Great card Kris! Don't those colors work wonders together??? (Did you order some only orange as a back up? I didn't order any extra retiring paper, figured I'd better jump on the band wagon and go full force ahead. I will miss Close to Cocoa though!)Thanks for playing with us at SPCC this week!
