Time For a Tropical Party

Stamp set: Tropical Party and teeny Tiny Wishes
Color Combo:

This is a card I created for the Stamping 411 color inspiration as well as the layout challenge.  This is such a great site to check out.  There are always the greatest ideas with the most talented stampers=D!

I have this problem???where I can not throw out any scraps!!!but sometimes I just look for a reason to use them!  This tag outline scrap is from one of my 125 Christmas cards.   How could I just toss all these? and now I found a use for them! (I think!)

I can't wait for the sun  to come out! The lighting in my room has a funny affect on my card stock-it does not look like the color it actually is?

 Hope you enjoy~

Lovely As A Tree

Stamp Sets: Lovely As A Tree and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Colors: Bravo Burgundy, Creamy Caramel,Handsome Hunter
Accessories: Sizzix and Texturz Plates #4,Modern Label, ticket punches, antique eyelets

This is the card I created for our Tuesday night technique class.  I showed my girls 2 new techniques on this card.  I also tweaked mine a little to fit the challenge at OCC.
On to  my techniques!  To Create A Mirror Image:
  • Stamp your image on card stock.
  • Stamp your image in same color inkon window sheets (or transparency paper)
  • Flip your clear sheet with image over and line up as it would look in a reflection
  • Using a brayer (or your bone folder) rub image from clear sheet. Your card stock will pick up the inked reflection!
To Create Wood-Grained Paper :
     Caution this technique is messy=D
  • Add ink (I used burgundy)directly to your texture plate
  • lay desired piece of card stock directly to inked plate
  • Run through your sizzix as directed
  • Voila!
    Hope You Enjoy!

    "I'm So Sorry" Card

    Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes
    Colors:

Accessories: Flower Layers Sizzix Die, Sweet Pea DSP, Polka Dot,Manhattan flower and Lattice Embossing Folders, Log Cabin Smooch Spritz, Clear Rhinestone Brad

I'm So Sorry!Apparently my camera has an quirky tint to it! I think because I used halogen lighting, colors seem a little off?Anyway...
I loved playing with these flower layers and texture! I couldn't decide what texture I wanted to use so I used everything in sight!  I used the sketch challenge from MojoMonday Sketch 138
and the always challenging color combo from Picture Perfect Creations 12. I spritzed my DSP with the NEW log cabin smooch spray.  The pic does not do it justice-it has a metallic tint to it-beautiful! My card base is sage shadow.  I layered a polka dot piece of soft suede then DSP and lattice textured bravo burgundy. The largest flower layer is in plum that has been embossed with the manhattan flower folder, next a DSP flower, textured lattice bravo burgundy, sage shadow and lastly the flower is held in the center with a clear rhinestone brad.  I used the smallest flower(textured) on my strips of DSP. And lastly, I added the sentiment "I'm So Sorry"in burgundy ink.

    Tropical Party

Stamp Sets: Tropical Party and Well Scripted
Colors: Barely Banana, close to cocoa, pink passion, sage shadow, taken with teal
Accessories: Square lattice texture Folder, 5 petal flower, boho blossoms,1inch circle, curly label punch, white gel pen, butterfly eyelet(retired SU!)

Mothers Day! It is definetly a party for me.  This year I celebrate my mom, whom I am very proud of!  She has been taking care of her children for 45 years!  This year the Lord told her it was time to take care of herself for a change!!!  She was diagnosed with breast cancer the end of last summer and has been phenomenal in her own care. She has done MAJOR lifestyle changes and has been as tough as a coconut=))).  She is truly an inspiration.

So, I guess I can tell you a little bit about this card(inspired by my mom) then;\ . The base is barely banana layered with a sq lattice textured close to cocoa CS.  A layer of pink then white with sage shadow palm fronds stamped on the white. I punched a piece of pink DSP with the biggest flower from boho punch and layered it on a 5petal flower punched with taken with teal and centered with an eyelet.  I stamped the smallest island flower twice on banana CS and cut out.  The coconuts are my favorite part! I punched out 2 1in circles out of the cocoa textured paper.  I then punched each with the edge of the curly label punch(1 inside and opposite) so it would seem as they were cracked in half(and could be put back together!). I used my white gel pen to highlight the inside.
Hope you Enjoy!  And more importantly to all moms out there- Have a beautiful and blessed MOTHER'S DAY!

Here are a couple of mothers day cards, one says "MomMom" and the other says "Grandmother" (sorry both word stamps are retired but they are SU!).  The base of the card is whisper white.  I layered a whisper white cs,spritzed with a mixture of shimmer paint(darn! it does not show up in photo!). Then a layer of cameo coral and white cs stamped with the images from "Watercolor Trio".  I markered directly to my stamp with cameo coral and ruby red for the flowers, and sage shadow and glorious green for the stems.  The butterfly, ribbon and scallop oval are  in ballet blue.

    Accessories: 1-1/4in square,scallop square punch,word window,small tag,scallop edge and modern label punches.

Hi Again! See I am trying to get caught up! This is a card I crated for 2 challenges. PPA which always has some great ideas and a sketch challenge over at Stamping 411
which always has some AWESOME ideas!  I turned my card on a horizontal.  I stamped my images in brilliant blue on bashful blue.  I used my marker to create my "a" and "c" out of the "b"is for birthday stamp. I tag punched the "and many more"stamp and layered it on a scallop square and then half the scallop square to make the top.  I used a word window in the brilliant blue and attached with a silver brad.  I used my word window punch to make a little "slide" to hold my tag, and cut 2 side off scallop square to frame my word window. I attached all my layers as shown.Hope you enjoy this one!!

    Pick-A- Petal

    Stamp Set: Pick a Petal
    Colors:

Accessories:Slit punch, Regular sized hole punch,1in circle punch, horizontal slot punch, ticket corner punch, bold buttons(real red), real red striped grosgrain, certainly celery, bordering blue marker

I have been a slacker!!! I'm sorry!! I am hoping to catch up with my projects this week.  So I got up bright and early and looked to my challenge blogs OCC and PCC  for some inspiration.  Here is the card I came up with to fulfill my inspirations =D.
I started with a base card stock of bordering blue, layering crushed curry and then naturals white.  I punched a hole with circle punch for the center of my flower and stamped the flower center with crushed curry(I was a little off-should of used my stamp-a-majig;/ ).  I used certainly celery, and bordering blue with the sketch petals and then real red with the smile petal=D. I ticket punched the 2 corners of the bottomto show another peak of crushed curry.
For the top treatment I used a piece of bordering blue cs and punched slits on both sides,so I could run my ribbon through. I chose a piece of red grosgrain and markered bordering blue to color in my white on the ribbon.Love this!!! I tied the ribbon in the middle with a piece of twine. I adhered a real red button with the twine tied through. I used a piece of real red cs and used the slit punch to make my scallops.  I hole punched through the scallops and added a peek of the certainly celery ribbon behind. Hope you enjoy!!
