Back to School Gift Idea

This is a little set I made using the "First Day" stamp set which was available in the summer mini, but you could use any set for this!! Imagine the possibilities!  First we have a great easel post-it note holder
which you can use a white gel pen or stamp letters to personalize your gift!

Next we have a corner bookmark, with this adorable bookworm!

of course he is bookmarking one of my many favorite pages in my Stampin' Up catty ;))

And lastly, who doesn't need one of these??? A tissue holder!

Isn't this just too cute?? Imagine these as a great wedding favor??

Fifth Avenue Floral Watercolor

Stamp Set: Fifth Avenue Floral
Colors: whisper white,regal rose,daffodil delight
Accessories:  Victoria ribbon, re-inkers, white embossing powder, versamark, heat gun, glossy white CS ,aqua painters and spritz bottle of water
I still cannot get away from this stamp set!  I have to say it is probably one of my all time favorites!  This technique I used was found on you-tube.  It was a little while ago,and I never marked the page(sorry to the creator!)  Using glossy card stock, stamp image in versa mark.  Sprinkle with embossing powder and heat set.  spray your card stock with water bottle, water will pool into areas and that is great-the wetter the easier!  Using your aqua painter, pick up a drop of ink(darker color 1st) from your re-inkers.(i used rose and daffodil) and touch area to be painted.  The water will spread the color for you!-such a cool and beautiful effect!  Apply color until you get desired look.. You can do as light or dark as you like,as well as blend the colors!  Allow paper to dry-this takes a little while!  I used the new Victoria ribbon behind my flower-so beautiful!!!

Tropical Vacation

We did indeed have a tropical summer here in southern New Jersey!  I am sad:( that it is over but I plan on sneaking in a few more beach days;)  This is a card I created for a show last month(before the summer mini was over) so, it features some retired items.  The palm trees are from the tropical party set and the sand is from the sweet scoop set,as well as the also retired DSP from Island Oasis.  I loved all these sets-I will miss them!!  I used masking and the brayer to create the different parts of the landscape, horizon and sun.

Anyway, short post,so I can move on to catching up with more postings!

Until Next Thought~Kris

I'm Back!

I am back!  I plan on posting regularly now that I have a camera again!!!  My camera had gone on the fritz(OH NO!)and my darling husband insisted it was just the battery.  After a month long search(I swear!!!) I found the new battery! YEAH! Only to find out, it was not the battery >:(   My camera (present at Christmas-from said hubby)had a warranty on it.  So, I was not to do anything but return it!  Well, needless to say, I held my hand on my backside in anticipation of hubby finding the warranty...AHEM...still waiting...anyway, I just went out and got a $60 camera to hold me over!  So hopefully, these pictures of my cards and projects will be acceptable until (and if) he ever gets my good camera fixed! So, I will share with you some projects that I did indeed work on over the summer!

This card was made with the scallop#2 die and a freehand dress. It also uses some of our Stampin Up! great punches-can you see them all? and the adorable new itty bitty punches, too.  Unfortunately, the DSP is now retired(by the time of my posting!)but there are so many cool other DSP's now available!  Use your thinker=D  I CASED it from Gretchen Barron(a fellow SU! demonstrator) and just added a few of my own elements=D.  I think it is too cute!  What do ya think?

Until Next Thought~
